چکیده
Gene duplication is the major resource with which to generate new genes, provide raw material for novel functions evolution. Thus, elucidate gene family evolution after events of vital importance. Anthocyanin O-methyltransferases (AOMTs) have been recognized as being capable anthocyanin methylation, increases diversity and stability improves protection plants from environmental stress. Meanwhile, no detailed identification or genome-wide analysis AOMT members in pomegranate (Punicagranatum) reported. Three published genome sequences offer substantial resources explore based on whole genome. Altogether, 58 identified OMTs five other species were divided into group OMT group, according their phylogenetic tree AOMTs derived OMTs. same subclade a similar structure protein conserved motifs. Punica granatum (Pomegranate) activity in health promotion and cancer prevention
Cancer has become one of the most fatal diseases in most countries. In spite of the medical care developing, cancer still remains a significant problem. The majority of the cancers are resistant to treatment. Thus, the research for novel, more efficient and less side effect treatment methods continues. Pomegranate contains strong antioxidant activity, with potential health interests. Research c...
متن کاملThe role of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) in colon cancer.
Colon cancer is one of the major causes of cancer-related death in the Western world. Although cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents are available to treat the disease, these agents become ineffective as the disease advances to an invasive state. An alternative but viable approach to reduce the incidence of this deadly disease is then, to increase the dietary intake of relatively non-toxic fruits a...
متن کاملFlavonols and Flavones Changes in Pomegranate (Punica granatum L
Four Chinese pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cultivars were analyzed for their individual flavonols and flavones (in fruit peel extracts) using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), with changes in flavonols and flavones as occurring during fruit development. The results revealed the presence of kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin, luteolin, and apigenin in all the four cultivars. In add...
متن کاملINVITED REVIEW Biotechnological advances in pomegranate (Punica granatum L.)
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is known for its nutritional, medicinal, and ornamental importance. It is conventionally propagated by hardwood and softwood cuttings, but about 1 yr is needed before the rooted cuttings can be transplanted to the field. Propagation by seed is undesirable as populations are heterozygous and seed propagation leads to wide variations in tree and fruit characterist...
متن کاملAntioxidant Activity of Iranian Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Seed Extracts
Pomegranate, a small tree with potential human health benefits, is grown mainly in Iran, India and USA as well as in most Near and Far East countries. It has been used extensively in folk medicine for a number of therapeutic purposes. In the present study, the ferric reducing/antioxidant power assay (FRAP) was employed and the FRAP value of the seed fraction of six different cultivars of pomegr...
